Suspect in alleged hate crime killing in the dock today

CAPE TOWN - A man is expected in court today in connection with the murder of a woman in a suspected hate crime.

Noluvo Swelindawo, an openly lesbian woman, was abducted and murdered last weekend in the Driftsands area.

Her body was found near the N2 Highway on Sunday morning.

The police's Frederick van Wyk says, “We are investigating the murder of a 22-year-old woman. A 24-year-old male is due to make a court appearance in the Blue Downs Magistrates Court on a charge of kidnapping and murder.”
