Cape Town man arrested for illegal possession of a rifle
Police have arrested a 23-year-old man in Lavender Hill for the illegal possession of a rifle.
CAPE TOWN - Police have arrested a 23-year-old man in Lavender Hill for the illegal possession of a rifle.
The police's Frederick Van Wyk says the suspect was nabbed on Monday following a tip-off.
“Upon arrival, police observed a male as per description received. When he saw the police members he started to run, police chased after him and found him to be in possession of a rifle.”
Meanwhile, also in Lavender Hill on Monday officers stormed a house at Van Der Leur Court, where they discovered a stash of tik and mandrax tablets.

A 49-year-old man was arrested and is expected to appear in court soon.
