JOHANNESBURG – The South African Weather Service says slightly cooler weather can be expected in Gauteng from this evening.

With temperatures reaching highs in the mid-30s in Gauteng this weekend, the weather service says some scattered showers and a possibility of thunderstorms may bring lower temperatures.

Forecaster Lulama Phema says while most of the province is experiencing mostly sunny conditions with high temperatures partly cloudy conditions can be expected in the later afternoon.

“There is a possibility of showers and thundershowers later today.”

Phema says there is going to be a watch alert for severe thunderstorm tomorrow.

“Temperatures are expected to drop tomorrow in Gauteng.”
