CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town has extended operating hours of its MyCiti buses to beaches, shopping malls and other tourist attractions during the festive season.

This service will be available to commuters from Friday.

An influx of tourists and locals are soon expected at beaches and shopping malls possibly adding to traffic mayhem on already congested roads across the city.

Transport Mayoral Committee Member Brett Herron said: “Hopping a MyCiti bus for shopping, going to the beach or celebrating New Year’s ever will be convenient than using private vehicles. The MyCiti service will operate later than usual to accommodate those who want to do late night shopping at the V&A Waterfront and Canal Walk.”
