Mbalula’s absence during Parly Q&A session frustrates opposition
A statement released by the DA indicates Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula is abroad meeting with Spanish soccer team Barcelona.
CAPE TOWN - Sport and Recreation Minister Fikile Mbalula’s absence during a Parliamentary question and answer session has frustrated some Members of Parliament (MPs).
A statement released by the Democratic Alliance (DA) on Wednesday afternoon indicates Mbalula is abroad meeting with Spanish soccer team Barcelona.
DA Chief Whip John Steenhuisen says Mbalula should be in the House to account for his performance as Sports Minister.
“This is now the second consecutive session of oral questions in the House that Minister Mbalula has been absent for. The Constitution is very clear that ministers are accountable collectively and individually to Parliament.”
