JOHANNESBURG - Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa has urged government to work with all social partners to overcome underdevelopment and socio-economic problems that promote the spread of aids.

Ramaphosa was speaking in Sandton yesterday, ahead of World Aids Day on Thursday.

The deputy president says that political and civil society leaders need to join hands in the fight against HIV/Aids.

He says more effort needs to be made, especially with new infections.

“We must work with all social partners and need to put greater effort on the prevention of new infections, especially among young women.”

He says local government must prioritise coordination and community involvement through educational programmes.
