Emergency services say they will be on high alert on Friday and over the weekend as forecasters warn of persistent wet weather.
JOHANNESBURG – Motorists have been urged to be extra vigilant on Friday afternoon following warnings of possible flooding in low lying areas.
Emergency services say they will be on high alert on Friday and over the weekend as forecasters warn that wet weather conditions will persist for the next few days.
Seven people were killed earlier this month and hundreds were displaced in flash floods earlier this month.
The body of a toddler was found near the Jukskei River earlier this week.
Johannesburg Emergency Services Robert Mulaudzi says: “We will remain on high alert, monitoring all our critical areas – mostly our informal settlements – to make sure that if there is an incident we are able to respond as quickly as possible.”
