WC top cop condemns Philippi police murder

CAPE TOWN - Western Cape Police Commissioner Khombinkosi Jula has condemned a fatal attack on an officer in Philippi east.

Constable Amanda Ladlokova was shot dead and her partner was wounded while responding to a complaint in the area last night.

Jula has sent his condolences to the family of Constable Ladlokova.

“The other sergeant who was in the company of our now deceased member and he sustained some serious injuries on the neck. He is lying in hospital.”

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack and is expected to appear in court on Friday.

Ladlokova and a colleague had just finished serving a protection order at a house in Philippi east when they were
called to a similar complaint in the area.

They were then apparently targeted by three men and robbed of their firearms.
