JOHANNESBURG - Members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF)’s Johannesburg region are currently picketing in Sandton, calling for an end to what they say is the continuous abuse of black workers by construction companies.

The march to the corners of West and Rivonia Street on Wednesday comes after two workers were injured after a structure collapsed on them while they were working on site last week.

The red berets have accused construction companies of not ensuring proper safety for their workers.

Johannesburg EFF's Filumko Lauona says: “We’re convinced that through the capitalist character of these companies and the whole gang are trying to remove files that they paid the compensation board by compromising workers’ safety.”
