Claims of racism, sexual harassment at prominent CT school
Learners at the school claim that a hostel superintendent hurled racial slurs at them and touched them inappropriately.
CAPE TOWN - A Western Cape Education official will this afternoon address Wynberg Girls' High School learners who claim to be victims of racism and sexual harassment.
In a statement released on social media today, pupils claim they are being victimised at a hostel at the all-girls school.
Learners also claim a hostel superintendent hurled racial slurs at them and touched them inappropriately.
Education MEC spokesperson, Jessica Shelver said: “We are aware of a statement issued earlier by the learners of Wynberg Girls' High School. There are a number of concerning allegations made and our officials are investigating as a priority. Our circuit manager will visit the school this afternoon to address the learners once they have completed their exams.”
