Over 90 foreign students cancel 2017 study plans with UCT
UCT says the cancellations, caused by fees related protests, are from a group of 650 applications from abroad.
CAPE TOWN -The University of Cape Town (UCT) has confirmed more than 90 foreign students have cancelled their plans to study at the institution in the first semester of 2017.
This is due to disruptions caused by fees related protests.
UCT says the cancellations are from a group of 650 applications from abroad.
These international students are due to come to the institution as part of its study abroad programme.
UCT’s Elijah Moholola said: “It is not quite a significant impact that the cancellation has at this stage because we are considering 92 cancellations from about 650 applications for those who intend to study.”
