CAPE TOWN - Triple murder accused Henri van Breda is expected in the Western Cape High Court on Friday.

He is accused of killing his parents and older brother at their Stellenbosch home last year in January.

His younger sister was seriously injured in the attack.

Van Breda faces three murder charges, one attempted murder charge and charges relating to tampering with evidence.

The State claims it has a strong case against the 21-year-old man.

The trial is likely to begin in February 2017.

Van Breda is also facing a separate case of drug possession, along with his girlfriend Danielle Janse van Rensburg.

That case is expected to be heard in April next year.

The National Prosecuting Authority says the drug charges will likely have no bearing on the murder case.
