JOHANNESBURG - Two people are in a critical condition and 18 others are being treated for minor injuries after being stung by bees at a Vereeniging school this morning.

It's understood a hive had been disturbed while workers were cutting grass at the school on Van Riebeeck Road.

The patients include staff and children.

ER24's Chitra Bodasing Harduth says: “ER24 paramedics and other services attended to the incident. At this stage it’s understood two patients are in a critical condition, while the rest are in a minor to moderate condition.”
