Suspect in JHB robbery case may have ties to Radovan Krejcir
The suspect was one of four arrested in possession of police equipment, rifles & ammunition.
JOHANNESBURG - Police say there's a possibility one of the four men arrested in possession of police equipment, rifles and ammunition is linked to convicted drug dealer Radovan Krejcir.
The four will appear in the Randburg Magistrates Court today after they allegedly planned a robbery at a Sunninghill Mall.
The police's Kay Makhubele says the group was confronted by security at the Core Shopping Centre when they became suspicious of the men's vehicles.
According to Makhubele, the four men were found in possession of two riffles, a handgun, ammunition, South African Police Service vests and a radio, among other items.
He adds some of the suspects were on the police’s wanted list and one suspect may be linked to Krejcir.
“One of the suspects were identified as one who once ran away from court. We still believe that the investigation will reveal if he is the one who was meant to stand trial with Krejcir.”
He says the four are facing a number of charges.
