Boy (14) hospitalised after firework accident
More than 1,200 boxes of fireworks were also confiscated in the lead up to Guy Fawkes celebrations.
CAPE TOWN - A 14-year-old boy has been hospitalised after he was seriously injured in a fireworks related incident in Table View.
More than 1,200 boxes of fireworks were also confiscated in the lead up to Guy Fawkes celebrations, held on Saturday.
The City Of Cape Town's Wayne Dyason says, “At the Table View designated site, 10 distress flares were confiscated.
There were also minor injuries at various designated sites and one serious injury in Table View. Kite surfers also got in on the act by shooting off fireworks from the sea to land. This type of dangerous action is strongly discouraged, as there is great potential for injury.”
