ANCYL ‘shocked’ Maine, Mantashe named in state capture report
The ANCYL says it has no problem with the Public Protector’s report, but has issues with Thuli Madonsela.
JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) says it is shocked that ANC Secretary General Gwede Mantashe and its president Collen Maine’s names are featured in the State of Capture report.
It says the fact that they are not part of any state institution and are still called on to account makes the report suspicious.
The ANCYL briefed the media this afternoon on decisions taken at its national working committee meeting in Luthuli House.
The youth league says it has no problem with the Public Protector’s report per se, but has issues with former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela.
The league says it’s clear that the report was written with the intention of defaming the governing party and its members.
