JOHANNESBURG - The Hawks have re-arrested a man who’s been on the run after the murder of an officer at the Tembisa Magistrates Court.

Joshua Shongwane had been out on bail for another murder but was re-arrested earlier this year for armed robbery.

While waiting for his case to be called, he overpowered police and fatally shot the officer before escaping.

Shongwane was nabbed at a hideout spot in Eesterus east of Pretoria yesterday afternoon.

The Hawks' Robert Netshiunda said, “We’ve arrested a suspect who’s been wanted for killing a police officer at court in Tembisa. The man, commonly known as Bomba, was re-arrested yesterday just outside Pretoria.”
