JOHANNESBURG – A 14-year-old Limpopo school boy has been arrested after he shot and killed another boy in Mankweng.

Police say the teenager stole his uncle’s firearm and went to attend extra mathematics class along with the deceased on Sunday.

It’s understood the accused was playing with the firearm when a bullet went off and struck another boy in the face. He was declared dead at the scene.

The police’s Mohlaka Mashiane says, “The suspect has been taken to Bosasa, a juvenile prison, and we will open a case of murder. According to the information received, the uncle has been charged for the negligent handling of a firearm and he apparently doesn’t have the proper licence to possess that firearm.”
