Search continues for man at Monwabisi beach

CAPE TOWN - The search for a Khayelitsha man presumed to have drowned at Monwabisi beach is still underway.

Rescue officials responded to a drowning in progress shortly after 2pm yesterday.

Law Enforcement Marine Lifeguards rescued a second man and treated him for exhaustion.

The National Sea Rescue Institute's Craig Lambinon says: "Police divers are continuing to search for a 45-year-old Khayelitsha man this afternoon at Monwabisi. It appears he and a friend were swimming when they got into difficulty."
