CAPE TOWN - Producers of the popular SABC soapie 7de Laan say they're hoping to end a contractual deadlock with the SABC within the next two weeks.
In a memo sent to staff, the show's producers say the broadcaster has not renewed its contract to start work on the new season.
At the same time, Muvhango is also struggling to secure a new contract.
In the circular sent to employees, _ 7de laan_ staff have been advised to make alternative arrangements to meet financial commitments as it is unlikely that they will be paid next week.
Danie Odendal productions has revealed it is still waiting on the SABC's legal department to approve script and production contracts which was sent in September.
But producers remain optimistic that the matter can be resolved within the next two weeks.
Work on SABC 2's other anchor programme, Muvhango, has also been affected due to contract delays.
The SABC has declined to comment on the state of the contract negotiations.
