CAPE TOWN - A Kenilworth woman accused of conspiring to kill her husband is expected in the Wynberg Magistrates Court today.

The woman allegedly approached an employee two weeks ago to have her spouse murdered.

She was arrested in Lansdowne on Tuesday.

The employee, who was allegedly approached to act as a middleman, alerted police to the plot.

Officers then setup an undercover operation on Tuesday.

The police's Frederick van Wyk explains: "The operation was conducted in the parking area of Lansdowne railway station, where a woman handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to a hitman to have her husband assassinated. The woman was arrested shortly thereafter."

It's alleged the mother of three offered the would-be hitmen R200,000.
