Police monitoring Tembisa following service delivery protests
Officials say community members have blocked roads leading into and out of the area.
JOHANNESBURG - Police say they're monitoring the township of Rabie Ridge near Thembisa where protests flared up overnight.
Officials say community members have blocked roads leading into and out of the area as part of their demonstration over service delivery issues.
The police's Kay Makhubela says, at this stage, the protest is only disruptive and hasn't resulted in violent actions.
"They are protesting about service delivery. However, the management of police have deployed members of various stations to monitor the situation and we will be continuing to monitor the area."
