CAPE TOWN - Khayelitsha police have arrested a man in connection with a R1 million drug bust.

Acting on a community tip-off, members of the Khayelitsha Tactical Response Team intercepted a drug deal in Kraaifontein yesterday.

Officers confiscated over 30,000 mandrax tablets after a high speed chase.

The police's Noloyiso Rwexana says, "When the driver saw the police, he increased his speed. A high-speed chase ensued and police managed to stop the vehicle. After searching the vehicle they found 31,000 mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of over R1 million."
