SA officials in talks with NZ over new visa rule

CAPE TOWN - Home Affairs says a newly imposed visa requirement for South Africans travelling To New Zealand is unfortunate.
South Africans travelling there will need a visa from 21 November.
Home Affairs officials say they will investigate the sudden decision.
Spokesperson Mayihlome Tshwete says officials will be deliberating on whether to make a tit-for-tat move and impose visa requirements for New Zealanders travelling to South Africa.
Tshwete says the visa requirements came out of the blue and reiterates that it is unfortunate, especially as security systems have been improved.
Home Affairs officials will be engaging with their counterparts in New Zealand to attempt to convince them to reverse their decision.
A visa to New Zealand will cost around R1,600.
