Protesting CPUT students disrupt stakeholder engagement meeting

CAPE TOWN - A heavy police presence prevails at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT)'s Bellville campus following the disruption of a stakeholder engagement meeting.
Protesting students have prevented the meeting between CPUT alumni, the SRC and convocation members from taking place this afternoon.
Protesting students dumped human faeces into the venue where the meeting was scheduled to take place.
The disruption forced the cancellation of the gathering.
The CPUT's Lauren Kansley says a decision on whether to allow staff back tomorrow will be taken later tonight.
Classes remain suspended.
