CAPE TOWN - Reverend Canon Mpho Tutu van Furth says her father, who's celebrating his birthday tomorrow, is growing stronger every day.

Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu will be 85-years-old tomorrow.

Tutu has been recovering at home following a minor surgery for a recurring infection last month.

Various activities have been planned in honour of the Arch tomorrow, including the 6th annual Desmond Tutu International Peace Lecture at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town.

Tutu van Furth says her father's health continues to improve every day.

"He's looking good, not as spritely as we're used to seeing him but I saw him this morning and he was all dressed up and ready to go. His health improves every day."
