JOHANNESBURG - There has been an audio clip doing the rounds on social media saying that the #FeesMustFall protesters will kill one white person so that their message is heard.

The audio is a WhatsApp voice note of what sounds like a woman saying that students are unhappy with the way that Wits Vice-Chancellor Adam Habib has handled this year's #FeesMustFall protests.

"So they are saying that in order to get Habib's attention, at least one white student must die."

The woman continues to say the students feel that it is the only way to get Habib's attention.

The group has branded itself #TakeBackWits calling for classes to resume.
