CAPE TOWN - The South African Broadcasting Corporation ( SABC) board, as well as well as Hlaudi Motsoeneng, are currently appearing before Parliament's Communications Portfolio Committee.

Motsoeneng's controversial reappointment to a senior post at the public broadcaster has topped the agenda.

The move came after the Supreme Court of Appeal ruled that his appointment as Chief Operating Officer (COO), was illegal.

Motsoeneng is standing firm, saying he intends applying for his old job.

Board chairperson Mbulaheni Magubhe says: "As far as the SABC is concerned, the employment of Mr Motsoeneng at the public broadcaster has never been challenged until he was appointed as the COO."
