CAPE TOWN - Cape Town disaster risk management says they're assisting scores of people left destitute after a series of fires burnt down more than 40 homes.
This morning fires tore through Bloekombos in Kraaifontein, parts of Kensington and Kosovo informal settlement, destroying a total of three houses and 45 shacks.
At least 135 people have reportedly been left homeless.
Authorities are still investigating the causes behind all three fires.
The city's disaster risk management's Charlotte Powell said, "Our partners are providing humanitarian relief; hot meals, blankets and food parcels. The city will also be doing assessments and will be handing out fire kits."
