Sans Souci's new code of conduct yet to be finalised

WC Education MEC Debbie Schafer says good progress has been made with the investigation.

CAPE TOWN - Western Cape Education MEC Debbie Schafer says a new code of conduct for Sans Souci Girls High School won't be ready by the end of this month.

Several weeks, back some pupils demonstrated claiming the current policy is racist and discriminatory.

Schafer was forced to intervene.

The MEC says that while good progress has been made with the investigation into the allegations of racism and discrimination, the new policy has not yet been finalised.

"I am happy to give the school a little bit more time to ensure that they do the process as inclusively as possible. It won't look like by the end of this month. They are making quite a lot of headway but they still have to apparently do some little consultation with the school community."
