JOHANNESBURG - President Jacob Zuma is meeting with premiers and the South African Local Government Association (Salga) in Pretoria today to discuss the progress reports on a number of provincial issues.

Zuma convened the President's Coordinating Council at the Union Buildings earlier today, along with the premiers of all nine provinces and some ministers, including the cooperative governance minister and finance minister.

The Presidency's Bongani Ngqulunga says one of the main issues that will be discussed is what government can do to support informal traders.

"It has been the main focus on what needs to be done to develop small and medium enterprises. The others issues include migration after the xenophobic attacks. There was an inter-ministerial committee established to deal with the issue of migration."
