Archbishop Makgoba: ANC leadership looting public resources

Makgoba today addressed the Provincial Synod of the Anglican Church in Benoni.
The event takes place every three years.
Without naming individuals, Archbishop Makgoba accused some ANC leaders of redirecting resources "to a small elite group of individuals with links to a small number of politicians and officials."
In his speech, Makgoba states "private interests are capturing the public purse."
He adds, "inflated tenders awarded to cronies drive up the cost of providing services."
Makgoba also says, "the worst-run state-owned enterprises are gobbling up billions of the public's money" and are "stalling the development of the real economy."
He also claims faith leaders have had little to say about Treasury's "willingness to bail out South African Airways and badly-run state-owned enterprises, but not poor students mired in debt."
