UCT students continue sit-in at Health Science faculty
The group has been occupying the office since Friday against fee increases.
CAPE TOWN - A group of University of Cape Town (UCT) students are still staging a sit-in at the dean of the Health Science faculty's office.
The group has been occupying the office since Friday in a protest against fee increases.
A health science student, who wants to remain anonymous, says they're determined to push ahead with the demonstration until management meets their demands.
"What has happened so far is the dean has gotten a task team to sit with us at some point, to find out what it is that we want. We also have support from staff members."
Meanwhile, lectures have been suspended for a second week at UCT.
The university has reiterated this week's suspension of lectures won't affect academic activities for the rest of the year.
