CAPE TOWN - Five people have died on the Western Cape's roads this past weekend.

In the most recent incidents, two pedestrians were killed yesterday.

Western Cape Traffic spokesperson Jacques Mostert says the victims were run over on the N1 highway near George and Paarl respectively.

"A driver of a light motor vehicle lost his life early Saturday morning on the N2 when he lost control of his vehicle and the vehicle overturned.

"And then on Sunday a driver of a light motor vehicle and the passenger in that vehicle also lost their lives in an accident."
