Motsoeneng tight-lipped on role at SABC
Hlaudi Motsoeneng's lawyer says he is now reporting for duty as an ordinary employee and not as the COO.
JOHANNESBURG - Hlaudi Motsoeneng says he cannot comment about the role he's playing at the South African Broadcasting Corporation or the ruling that his appointment as the corporation's chief operating officer (COO) is invalid.
Motsoeneng's lawyer has said he's now reporting for duty as an ordinary employee and not as COO.
LISTEN: So where to from here for Hlaudi Motsoeneng?
He wouldn't say much when contacted and wouldn't answer questions about the role he is playing at the SABC at the moment.
However, he says when a court reviews the matter, everyone needs to respect that view.
Meanwhile, pressure is building on the SABC's board and its chairperson, Professor Mbulaheni Maguvhe, to remove him from the broadcaster completely.
But Maghuve has fully backed Motsoeneng in the past, which leads to questions on whether the decisions Motsoeneng makes now have legal standing.
