Hawks confiscate counterfeit goods worth about R7.5m in EC
Officers searched a location in Butterworth where they found counterfeit sneakers and jeans.
CAPE TOWN - The Hawks in the Eastern Cape have confiscated counterfeit clothing worth approximately R7.5 million in Butterworth.
The operation was conducted by the Hawks, Tactical Response Team and the Home Affairs Department earlier this week.
Officers searched a location in Butterworth where they found counterfeit sneakers and jeans and other clothing items.
The Hawks' Anelisa Feni says these operations will continue.
"The team found counterfeit Adidas, Nike and Puma sneakers, along with Levis and Daniel Hatcher jeans."
