Team SA's Paralympians return home to fanfare
The athletes won a total of 17 medals, including 7 gold, at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio.
JOHANNESBURG - Dozens people have gathered at OR Tambo International Airport to welcome Team South Africa back home from the Rio Paralympics.
Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula will be hosting a welcoming ceremony for the 44 athletes.
The team broke a few records as they picked up seven gold medals, six silver and four bronze at the Games.
Mbalula and Sascoc executives have put on a display at OR Tambo to welcome back the Paralympic team.
People have packed the arrivals section waiting for the athletes to make their way out.
Mbalula is also expected to hand over the incentives he had promised all the medallists for their achievements.
