CAPE TOWN - A section of Langa remains volatile after a protest apparently over housing and service delivery grievances erupted in the area overnight.

Protesters attempted to torch a local post office while rail infrastructure was also vandalised leading to delays in train services.

Deputy Metro Police Chief Yolanda Faro says: "The protesting started last night with the Post Office that they attempted to set alight and they tried to break in at Shoprite You Save. And they attempted to set a railway alight."
