NUM declares wage dispute with Amplats
NUM is demanding a wage increase of 14.5%, while the mine is offering 6.75%.
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) has confirmed that it's officially declared a wage dispute with top platinum producer, Anglo American Platinum, after negotiations deadlocked.

Negotiations began last month.
The union, whose members comprise about a fifth of the workforce at Amplats, had originally sought a 20% wage increase.
The NUM's Livhuwani Mammburu says: "We can confirm that the NUM has declared a wage dispute with Anglo American Platinum after the deadlock of the wage negotiations."
