[LISTEN] Fedsas reacts to ban on matric balls in KZN

CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies chats to The Federation of Governing Bodies of South African Schools (Fedsas) CEO Paul Colditz about a ban on matric dances in KZN.

CAPE TOWN - Federation of Governing Bodies for South African Schools (Fedsas) says the KwaZulu-Natal Education Department does not have the authority to ban matric dances.

Speaking to CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies, Fedsas CEO Paul Colditz says decisions on social activities of schools should be left to school governing bodies.

The department has encouraged schools to wait till after the exams to have matric dances, saying learners should focus on their exams.
