UCT says no demands have been served
UCT management says no formal demands have been submitted to the executive.
CAPE TOWN - University of Cape Town (UCT) says no formal demands have been submitted to management regarding student protests.
Earlier today, a small group of protesters barred access to the university's upper campus.
The group is demonstrating in solidarity with three suspended students facing a disciplinary tribunal.

All campus operations have been suspended for the day.
Protesting students have raised concern over the legitimacy of the disciplinary process involving three students.
They say the tribunal is "a farce and vendetta targeted at select students".
The group is calling for among other things the students to be allowed back on campus.
But university management says no formal demands have been submitted to the executive.
The university says it remains open to engage with students.
