Maimane looking forward to Madonsela's report on Guptas
Madonsela was asked to probe the Gupta family, their business dealings and allegations of state capture.
JOHANNESBURG - Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane says his party will take further action once the Gupta report is released, saying he's convinced that many state institutions are captured.
Outgoing Public Protector Thuli Madonsela says a report on the Gupta family will be ready before she finishes her term next month.
Earlier this year, Madonsela was asked to investigate the controversial family, their business dealings and allegations of state capture.
Maimane says he looks forward to the report because there's no doubt that the role of the Gupta's goes further than what meets the eye.
"Even if there are at 11,000km [away], as others said they've exited, they still have got No.1's number and he's captured, so you can't sit back and accept that to continue. That fight is going to continue and I welcome that the Public Protestor will expedite that report."
