Children in WC fearful following teen’s murder
Lekita Moore’s mutilated body was found in a field in the early hours of Sunday morning.
CAPE TOWN - A Valhalla Park woman has told Eyewitness News that streets that are usually busy in the community are now empty after dusk, as children are too scared to roam freely following the murder of an 18-year-old.
Lekita Moore's mutilated body was found in a field in the early hours of Sunday morning.
She had been stabbed several times.
Nineteen-year-old Cameron Wilson was arrested in connection with her murder earlier this week.
He appeared in court yesterday when the case was postponed to next month for a formal bail application.
Resident Washiela Arendse says the community can't get over Moore's sudden and brutal death.
"The children are very emotional; they are also fearing because you can see the streets are empty in the evening (sic). Lekita was a child - when she passed you she would always greet you. She was a very soft person, and I am very emotional."
