Lekita Moore's body was found in a field in Valhalla Park at the weekend.
CAPE TOWN - It's believed police have made a breakthrough in their investigation into the murder of a Valhalla Park youth.
Eighteen-year-old Lekita Moore's body was found in a field in the area on Sunday. The motive behind her murder remains unclear.
She'd been stabbed several times. There are unconfirmed reports that a suspect has been taken into custody.
The Bishop Lavis Community Policing Forum says a 19-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder.
The forum's Graham Lindhorst says: "The young boy was charged officially and he is on his way to court today, thanks to the community who has come to the party."
Charles Moore says he hasn't been able to sleep or eat since seeing his daughter's body lying in a field in Valhalla Park.
"It's hard for me. She was the apple of my eye and she was my baby."
