CAPE TOWN - Former Proteas cricketer Thami Tsolekile is still under investigation for allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old boy in Pinelands.

Tsolekile made a brief appearance in the Goodwood Magistrates Court this morning on a charge of assault.

The embattled sportsman has denied the claims.

Prosecutor Benito Adonis requested a postponement for further investigation.

He has told the court there are still outstanding reports in the matter against Tsolekile.

The former Proteas wicket keeper is accused of grabbing the boy by his shirt and slapping him with an open hand across the face.

Outside court, Tsolekile avoided answering any questions by hurrying away from the large media contingent.
