The convicted rapist and former tennis champion has until Wednesday to report to prison after the Constitutional Court denied him the opportunity to appeal his six-year jail sentence.
In March last year, the 76-year-old was found guilty on two counts of rape and one of sexual assault after three women testified that he abused them while he was their tennis coach in the 1980s.
The WMACA's Miranda Friedman says it has been a long journey.
"It took for us, an organisation, to make a decision and start creating pressure that the National Prosecuting Authority eventually put this on the role, this was already back in 2012. And here we are almost five years later and Bob Hewitt is going to jail."
