CAPE TOWN - The African National Congress Youth League(ANCYL) says it will send open letters to all ministers to raise issues of concern.

The league says it has already begun with the first letters sent to the Minister of Higher Education Blade Nzimande and the Minister of Rural Development Land Reform, Gugile Nkwinti.

The ANCYL says its praised Nkwinti for driving the Land Expropriation Bill.

The letters are being written by Secretary-General Njabulo Nzuza.

The organisation's Mlondi Mkhize says the aim is to raise debate around issues of societal importance and to apply pressure on government to fast-track certain policies.

"We are writing these letters because there are issues of concern, particularly [those] that touch on youth. We think that [as] in order for the youth to move forward, the youth ought to know what it is that we are thinking and therefore need to be mobilised at all times so that we are able to champion these issues."
