Vandals target Sanral infrastructure outside George
Sanral has been constructing safe pathways near the N2 since the beginning of 2016 costing around R36m.
CAPE TOWN - The South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) says some of its newly-built infrastructure is being stolen by vandals outside George.
The roads agency has been constructing safe pathways near the N2 since the beginning of the year, at a cost of around R36 million.
Sanral's Kobus van der Walt says vandalism makes the project more costly and extends the completion date.
"They remove paving blocks over weekends as we lay them, including poles and electricity cables."
