10 arrested in connection with Finetown business robberies

JOHANNESBURG - Ten men have been arrested in connection with a series of business robberies in Finetown, south of Johannesburg.

The suspects have been accused of intimidating community members using unlicensed firearms and targeting local spaza shops.

They are expected to appear in the Protea Magistrates Court on charges of robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

The police's Kay Makhubela says: "We arrested only five who were in possession of unlicensed firearms. The other one we arrested for business robbery."
