UCT concerned by spate of attacks on students
Nine UCT students have been robbed at gunpoint at the university’s upper campus.
CAPE TOWN - The University of Cape Town (UCT) says it's disturbed by the recent attacks on its students, after nine of them were robbed at gunpoint on the upper campus.
Another student was also robbed at knifepoint while walking in Claremont last week.
Last month the university was forced to suspend its health services in Khayelitsha for about a week, after six students were robbed at gunpoint.
The university's Azwi Mufamadi says: "Our security personnel have been working with police in opening a case and helping them with the investigation."
